Seit heute ist der lang erwartete Nachfolger von Dark Souls erhältlich. Diverse Gaming-Seiten überrennen sich gegenseitig mit positiven Reviews, doch am Release-Tag scheint es noch einige technische Schwierigkeiten zu geben.

Viele Redaktionen haben Elden Ring schon vor einer ganzen Weile bekommen, um pünktlich zum Starttermin ihre Reviews veröffentlichen zu können. Dabei übertrumpfen sie sich gegenseitig mit Superlativen und guten Wertungen.

Das Gameplay und die Atmosphäre scheinen gut getroffen zu sein. Doch gleichzeitig tauchen unzählige schlechte Kommentare und Bewertungen auf Steam auf. Manche sprechen auch über sogenanntes „Review Bombing“.

Besonders auf dem PC leidet der Blockbuster wohl unter diversen Problemen: Einbrüche in den Frameraten, seltsame Maus-Sensitivität und problematisches Easy Anti-Cheat. Zwar wird heute auch ein großer Day1-Patch verteilt, der scheint aber viele aktuelle Probleme nur unzureichend zu beheben.

Die kritischen Kommentare im Steam-Shop haben inzwischen Bandai Namco auch zu einer Stellungnahme in ihrem Blog bewegt:

• We will be constantly working to improve the game so that it can be played comfortably on various PC environments and platforms.
  • For the PC version, updating your graphics card drivers to the latest version may significantly improve performance.
• About the phenomenon of game data that does not save correctly in the PlayStation 5 version
  • If the PS5 console is unexpectedly turned off while playing a game or in rest mode, saved data may not be saved correctly.
  • We are aware of the cause of this issue and are working on a patch to correct it, but until the patch is released, please save your game manually by exiting the game regularly.
  • Game data will be saved correctly if you quit the game by opening the system menu using the OPTION button and selecting „Quit Game.”

Dazu wird Playstation 5 Nutzern dazu geraten, das Spiel über das In-Game-Menü ordentlich zu beenden. Ansonsten kann es zu korrupten Spielständen kommen.
